CONCERT/MARCHING BAND Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 - 1 Credit (651)
Eligibility for participation is determined by previous instrumental music experience, musical ability, and dedication to the band program. Enrollment is for the entire school year, which includes participation in both the Marching Band and the Concert Band season. The Concert/Marching Band rehearses daily as a course, with additional rehearsals out of school. The Concert/Marching Band performs at football games, parades, concerts, and other public functions. Attendance at all performances and rehearsals both in and out of school is mandatory. Students will develop musicianship and technical proficiency on their instruments. The repertoire consists of a variety of quality works for concert and marching band. Band requires a full commitment and all students are expected to demonstrate a mature working attitude and prepare music to an excellent performance level. This course may be repeated for credit and is available for Honors Level II credit (10th, 11th, 12th only).
Percussion Ensemble
Co-curricular ensemble. Must be a member of an Instrumental Ensemble to participate. Weekly rehearsals begin in November and conclude in the beginning of May. Currently rehearses on Tuesday's 6:30PM-8:30PM
Outdoor Guard and Winter Guard
Extra-curricular performance group. Includes dance, drama, equipment, and choreographed movement. Outdoor Guard rehearses Monday evenings 4:00PM-6:00PM. Members attend Marching Band Camp and all band rehearsals during marching band season. Group performs with the Enfield High School Marching Band as the visual unit at all Marching Band functions. Winter Guard rehearsals are also on Monday evenings from 4:00PM to 6:00PM and Saturdays 9:00AM to Noon. Performance venues to be determined.
